I may have to cut in the supply hose as you say, If cracking open the fitting to let the air escape at the base of the pump does not work. I am going to give it a try after I finish working today. Question, my leaving the rear blade on the 3pt in the down position during the service have any effect on the pumps ability to prime? Thanks.

I sincerely hope the 2 hrs. running time you have put on this with dry pump hasn't worn the pump to point it can't prime and pump.

If the blade is down and the 3pt lever is in the neutral position the 3pt cyl will be closed off and fluid will flow through the valve. The FEL levers should also be in neutral.

If that pump can not prime with the suction flooded, then you have other problems.

This is all assuming the filters and screens are clean and functioning.

Did you try blowing air through the system from the pump OUT port to the tank to see if there was any blockage?

If the pump is good and the pump is full of fluid, and there is a good supply of fluid at the suction port, you will have flow if the engine is turning the pump.

Just came up from the garage. I got at a return line which was lower than the Aux tank & higher than the pump. this return line Y'ed into the supply line between the filter and pump. cracked the high side of the return line till it weeped. closed that and then cracked the pump at the inlet till it weeped. Closed it up. Started the tractor. 3pt, Fel, and steering came alive. Thank you very much guys.
