I'll have to ask around and find out the guys name. I've seen some of his handy work. It's nothing short of incredible. He does 1/16th scale scratch built planters, ect. I saw an Allis Chalmers 12 row planter he did. It looked almost real. Us Mt Washington boys are a tough act to beat!

If you're anywhere near a military base, check with their version of Defense Materials and Reclamation Office (DRMO). They frequently have auctions and occasionally have military vehicles and equipment they're getting rid of that way.

local dealers, newspaper, craigslist, driving down the highway and looking along the road, have friends looking also.

Craigs list--because you can find what you need locally (most of the time). You really need to kick the tires on any tractor you're considering for purchase--check it out thoroughly before handing over the cash or cashiers check. It's a lot easier to do this if you can find the tractor locally.
I've bought 5 vintage tractors off CL over the past 5 years at prices ranging from $1100 to $3600. Four of these tractors were delivered to my place by the sellers.

No one has mentioned local farm auctions, you can google auctions in your area. Here in Oklahoma they have auctions all the time for farms and mini farms going out of buisness. I am attending one this Saturday, and one Sept. 17. the one on Sept. 17 is an old ranchett, they have a 4x4 John Deere, 50 horse. This would be a great buy, cause it's barn kept tractor. I myself am going for the 72" box blade.here Is a Link to what I am talking about.
