Got a much used 2012 5093e through an auction source out of Florida fleet. Looks like the supply and return lines to the roof unit were cut and looped back together and cab hoses closed together as the exit front left frame. 1) Anybody got a pic of how these lines were run from factory? I will be doing a coolant flush and exchange. 2) rlRecommendations on how to test for leaks at in-frame lines and roof unit before reconnecting supply lines? A/C works great. Thanks!

Does that make sense?

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!.
Thinking about running air or just tap water through the circuit before connecting to cooling system in case there are leaks or corrosion. Thinking this may have been bypassed as early as 2012-13 since it came out of Florida.

Honestly you can probably just use barb fittings and some hose clamps to stick it back together. Just be prepared to swap the hoses in case you have the flow reversed! I think mine were reversed from the factory and I was able to correct it. there were already fittings beside the steps so it made the swap easy!

Good point. From the schematic and a parts look up the valved line attaches to the lower fitting on the heater core. Thinking I'll open the roof panel, hook up to tap water supply and test for leaks before linking to coolant. If the lines, valve or core leaks then I'll just be cleaning up water. Any thoughts?

SHouldnt be an issue doing that, although I doubt you will build enough pressure to identify any leaks.
Would be good to clean the lines and core out though.

Since this heater core circuit is isolated right now from the cooling system is there any recommended direction (forward or back) flushing with the control valve open? Any household products to mix in? Think I may go ahead and put an easy access bypass valve in when I reconnect everything if I don't find a leak. I figure the previous owner bypassed it because 1) leak OR 2)too hot in Florida. I use this mostly for rotary cutter work in Summer months. Might be nice to have a bypass valve from the heater core circuit in summer for a little better coolin. Guessing the in-headliner valve has to be at least partially open even with the heater in off position right?

Connected tap water to heater circuit, flushed forward and back. Not too bad. Moderate discoloration but no leaks with about 1/4 tap water pressure. Ran clear. Kept the tap water column and full heater core because I plan to flush and replace coolant in a few weeks. Ran tractor, no load just up and down some hills and got really good heat after about 15 minutes. Question for Pig Fab related to the schematic....supply is coming off a port from the bottom of the oil filter head just behind the water pump drain plug right? My 5093e shows return is into a common manifold with the upper primary radiator hose. Great heat, no leaks, just want to make sure I don't have the supply and return reversed. Interestingly when the heater circuit was looped out, the line connect to water pump was cool and the line connected to the radiator hose manifold was warm. Made me think I was getting these lines reversed. Appreciate any help. Thanks for the schematic. Help a lot once inside the roof panel.
