Looking at upgrading to a the 100hp class. 90% of the work is used for Brush hogging commercially. Is this a good model for that, any issues? reading a lot of guys saying don't buy the E just get the M for various reason. Ill get the loader but thats more for snow work and moving stuff around the house property only.

I have a 5100M and the big difference in deciding on that over the E was the transmission options. I always like to get as many gears as possible and the M had more choices.

For brush hogging, I much prefer the HST tranny to the gear .
Just easier to maneuver around in tight spots and backing around to get at the brush.
Just a thought, as your desire may vary. ;)

Problem is, if you need a 100hp tractor, there are limited (no?) choices for an HST machine.

HST is not an option. been there done that. won't go back unless doing lots of loader work

I can do everything the HST can and just as good until the loader is involved.

Any issues with your M? Im getting a quote tomorrow on it. If all goes as planned it will come home.

So far it’s been a great and hasn’t had any issues worth mentioning. It has 250 hrs on the clock and we just finished up another hay season with it. It’s a strong, heavy tractor with a wonderful cab.

Most of the things you hear about the E series involves the smaller frame tractors (5055, 5065, 5075).

I run both a 5085E and a 5100E. The 85 has nearly 1500 hours and the 100 has over 500.

I've had zero problems with either one, both get used mostly for spraying and bush hogging (with 15 foot batwings).

I will say that if you are interested, to find a slightly used one that is not Tier 4. That is my only complaint, the 5100 is Tier 4 and having to fill the DEF tank all of the time gets aggravating.

Nice tractor that will serve you well...
Last year I bought a used T4.75 and a new 10 foot Titan cutter to brush hog my two farms...
So far so good...
Would have preferred a 100 HP machine and 15 foot bat wing but the budget rules...
Good luck with your new unit...
The M series are very nice...

Sweet machine. I really like mine and I’m sure you’ll be happy with yours as well.
