5103 Purchase

   / 5103 Purchase #21
I just bought a 5103 and a new MX-6 cutter. I have 400 lbs of weight on the front. The MX-6 is a cuttin' dude. I am a little concerned about the weight when I have it lifted. It seems real heavy and the when I let it down it goes down really quick. The rear tires seem to have a bulge to them when the cutter is up and all the weight is on the tractor. Should the weight of the MX6 on a 5103 w/quick hitch be a concern??? Is there anything I can do to make the lift control a little smoother??

I have only hooked up my MX6 to try it out. Haven't really mowed anything yet. I have iMatch and haven't noticed the problems you mention. I do have a 512 loader, so that probably evens out the weight better. I believe you can adjust the rate of drop on the hitch, but I don't know how to do it. If it's possible, I'm sure someone here can tell you.

Chip, remember small children and new tractor owners don't mix. Every year or two someone in my community loses a small child due to a tractor accident. No one gets up in the morning and says, I am going to kill my child with my tractor today.....that's why they call them accidents. Best thing is to not allow child to ride with you.

Please think about this.
