I finally replaced the leaking fuel sending unit on my 5105. I wanted to remove the tank to give it a good cleaning but after much frustration, I gave up and changed the sender out from underneath. It appears they set the tank on the tractor and then installed the ROPS and fenders. The screw holes in the base are indexed and you have to get the gasket ,base, and holes in the tank bottom all lined up together. These screws are brass and there are brass inserts in the tank. Didn't take long. Changed the fuel line from the tank to filter, installed new filter and water separator, filled fuel tank and checked for leaks, no leaks. Spent about an hour getting air out of lines. Didn't want to burn up starter so I took my time. The injector line nuts are hard to reach on this tractor as they sit under the muffler. Got the tractor started and made sure no fuel leaks. I wasted half of Wednesday trying to take the tank off. The sender rod is about 3 ft. long and I didn't think It would come out the bottom but it did. Luckily the temps were in the upper 60s and the ground wasn't to damp. I think I am going to order a set of metric angle wrenches from Northern, I think they will fit the injector line nuts easier. Got some ground and taters in the ground Saturday.:cool2:
