5220ch or 4720C

Im shopping for a Branson 4720CH or a 5220C with no loader, I need it as a spraying machine.
Does anyone know what I can expect to pay for one.

I would be guessing around $30,000 without the loader.

Just thinking for myself, I would be hard pressed to buy a tractor without a FEL and 2 rear remotes, even if I planned on never needing them (plans can change unexpectedly).

Four years ago I paid right at $30K for a 4720 with loader and cab. I don't know how much prices have gone up. Why not just call a dealer and ask? I kind of agree with Slim. Having a loader will also help with resale whenever that time comes. (Ever notice how people on forums never seem to mind telling you to spend more money?) Branson loaders do come off very easily.

Every time I check the oil in my 8050 I cuss the loader frame,
Branson ran the loader frame rails higher then the original frame rails,
I have to twist and shove my hand under the throttle cables to reach the dipstick to remove it,
then to try and install it without getting it dirty.
Quite often I will scrape some of the skin off the back of my hand doing a simple check.

I notice that one of your options mentioned was a CH is that a cabbed tractor with a hydrostatic transmission?
I would not car for a hydro for spraying to much variance in ground speed to pto speed.

About a year and a half ago, I looked at the 4720h 4720ch and 5220h.
Went with the 5220h . Loader, backhoe,
Medium duty cuter, box blade pallet forks
And a set of rear remotes for the backhoe.
Don稚 remember exact price. Was under $35
Delivered.
I believe
The 4720ch was $2000-$3000 more.
The 4720h was $2000-$3000 less.

I agree that a geared tractor is far better for spraying than is a hydrostatic. I do quite a bit of spraying with my hydro though. On flat ground it is fine. On hilly ground it requires attention. I permanently installed a Garmin GPS that I had laying around to help me maintain a constant speed. It helps a lot for spraying. It not only tells you your speed, it helps keep track of where you have and haven't sprayed (Not as accurate for location as the ultra expensive made for farming GPS's though, but much better than guessing). A decent spraying system will maintain a constant nozzle pressure regardless of PTO speed.

Checking oil and changing the oil filter on the 4720CH is a pain too because of the loader frame. I try to plan my oil changes around when I have the FEL off. It is under a 5 minute job to remove or re-install the FEL.

I got a good price from a dealer in Florida 5220 cab and loader for $32,5
I think I will go with that.
At first I didn't want the loader because I already have a 3510i and a 4520R with loaders.
Once I found out it wasn't that much more with the loader, minds quickly changed!

Couldn't possibly be worse than the Ford loaders over the years. Try doing any engine servicing, much less work with those things in the way. I have 3 Fords and none have loaders for that very reason.
