54\"\" BB Too Big for B7510?

I had a B7500 that I had to sell when I left Michigan /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. I had a 48" First Choice BB on it and had no problems. Now that I am in Arizona on a little over 1 acre, I just got quoted and accepted a quote on a B7510HSD with an LA302 FEL and a Land Pride 54" BB. The price is $14,000 out the door delivered. I have found that here in Tucson the inventory is lean with the prices higher due to not that much volume (also didn't need my 60" MMM here). The dealer said the B7510 would have no problem with a 54" BB but I am still considering calling him back and getting the 48" BB. There is no difference in BB cost.

Does anyone use a 54" BB on their B7510? I wouldn't think that the 6" difference would make that much difference. I am not having the tires filled (they all want to fill them with water here and I am worried about corrosion) and will use the BB for weight on the back for FEL work.

I also understand that they have changed the HST and 3 Pt to give them more umph than what I had on my 2001 B7500HSD. Is this true? As I remember, the LA302 loader also is rated about 100 pounds higher than what I had before. I do like the improvements that they have made. They took care of most of the things that I didn't like or would have liked to change. I think I will be happier with the B7510 (I was very happy with my B7500! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif).

Thanks.

Forgot to mention that the tractor includes a folding ROPS which I believe is a $300 option.

If you are only using it for weight then there should be no problem and light BB work.
I had a B7500 and 48" BB and before filling the tires I had lots of traction problems diggin in the clay.
Using windshield washer fluid may be an alternate to just plain water if you decide to fill.

Read a few posts regarding the B7510 and BB size. Seems there is a difference of opinion about which to use. I do like the idea of covering the R4 tires. The weight isn't that much different. The Landpride BB15 48" weighs 382# and the 54" weighs 402#. Based on this, I think the dealer was right about the 54" BB.

Your 3pt. will lift the box blade no problem. However, with that light a tractor a 54" box blade will be getting stopped a lot. With a box blade, bigger is not always better. They have scarifiers that you will want to use to rip open sod/gravel/etc. from time to time and you don't want too big a blade back there. My B7800 (#2000lb. with my fat but on it) gets stopped by a 60" blade quite a bit. I would go with the 48 because your tractor will pull it better and you'll be able to use it the way it was meant to be used.

Re: 54\"\" BB Too Big for B7510?

I have a B7510 and a 4' BB. I wish I had a 54" so it would be as wide as the R4's but I already had the BB when I got the tractor so I will live with it.

My tires were set up by the dealer at the next-to-widest setting and are about 53 1/2" overall width. I have considered moving them in to the next hole to get a slightly narrower tread pattern but am concerned about stability on slopes.

You can always take a shallower cut and/or not fill the BB completely up if you have traction problems.

Being in Arizona I suspect that the dirt stays pretty dry which would be lighter weight than the East Texas sand/clay that is nearly always wet that I deal with.

BTW, loading the R4's helped the traction a lot.
