3-Point Hitch 540 PTO

This may sound dumb,but how do I determine when the pto is at 540 rpm

I have a bx25 I thionk it is at 3000 rpm but that seems high

It varies, I have one Ford it's 2,000. My other Ford is 2,500. My Kubota is 2,700. There should be either a dash label or gauge (usually built into the tachmeter)

Yeah it "seems" high, but that's about right on a BX. While there's no mark on the tach, the manual states it, I believe. Used to run mine as low as 2800 if it got the job done, which is the best gauge of what's needed.

The red line on the tach is 540

Also the drivers inside left shift lever has to be back, you need to use the clutch,,,throttle down to shift then release the clutch and throttle back up,,,,forward is for the mid PTO ,,,this is on the B model,,,not sure if it's different with other models

Sounds about right for a BX, we run our 2660 at 3000.

I just checked my owner's manual and it doesn't list engine / pto speeds. It makes reference to "proper engine speed" but it doesn't say what that number is.
