New holland 54d
Going to attempt my first oil change. The manual said to remove all drain plugs. I crawled under today and indeed found 3 plugs. I checked new holland parts online trying to find out what size wrench to no avail. My 1 inch wrench is just a little to small and I figure it's metric anyway. Does anyone know if its a 26mm? Just wondering before I go shopping for a new wrench my metric set doesn't go that big.

Changed the oil yesterday. 27mm if anyone else ever needs to know.

How many quarts (with filter) of oil did it take? I just changed mine and put in what the manual calls for, 6.6 QT, and it looks like it needs more by the marks on the stick. Messicks online parts diagrams has a capacities page for these tractors and it says 2.1 gal. Anyone know the correct amount?

I don't know the correct amount but when I did it it took all 8qts I bought. That was with the filter.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll top mine up to between the full and low mark. It looks like the Messicks information is closer to correct than the owners or shop manual.
