5500 with Woods BH9000

Clyde, the Bradco is Mahindra badged. Mahindra teamed with Bradco to set up the 00 series tractors with the 509 and the 511 Bradco hoes. I wasn't aware that Woods had the same deal; hence the question on tractor warranty as the Mahindra hoe was developed particularly for the 00 series specs. BobG in VA

Thing is Mahindra tested the bradco and sees its affects on the tractor. They see the tractors will take the stress. They did not test or atleast did not approve use of the woods. Mahindra most likely would approve warranty work, but there is no guarantee. This is how my dealer explained it to me.

That said I still believe if I had to choose between the woods groundbreaker and the small (not 509/511) bradco hoes on a smaller tractor (2615,3015,3215) I'd take the chance for the extra reach and power.

Mahindra is not putting the bradco backhoe on the 15 series.
They use the kmw backhoes.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Bob - I hope MUSA replies to the question of frame mount backhoes despite who the manufacturer is as far as the Mahindra warranty issue. I don't recall any other manufacturer specifically stating that you had to buy say a Bradco over another piece of equipment to meet their warranty requirements.

The Mahindra warranty states under "What is not covered under warranty"

"Utilization of non-Mahindra front-end loaders, mid-mount mowers and/or backhoes. Use of these items may result in damage to your Mahindra Tractor and void this Warranty."

The reason is that the front-end loaders and backhoes are specifically designed and rogorously tested on our tractors where as non Mahindra branded ones are not. The tractor manufacturers will not warranty damage caused by attachments that have not been tested and proven to work on their units.

Our current warranty policy also specifically says that damage resulting from the use of a three-point mounted backhoe is not covered.

So musa what you are saying is that if a customer hangs a rear blade or say a rear finishing mower or even a rotary cutter on the tractor it will void The warranty even though Mahindra does not have a implement line of ther own?

With all respects to Mahindra, I think they better come up to the plate of what might be referred to as "competition". What is Mahindra doing to certify these other manufactuers and their backhoes, rearblades, boxblades, plows, discs, front end loaders, etc? If I would have really read the warranty Mahindra wrote and told me precisely what I had to buy for attachments - I would never have bought my 4500. I can understand why they won't certify a 3pt hookup backhoe but as far as a subframe mount manufactured by Woods for their backhoes - I guarantee you that they will not only meet but exceed the Bradco line. I a little ticked right now with Mahindra's stand and I smell a little money under the table exchanged between tractor and equipment manufacturers right now for exclusivity rights! Clyde

I would guess that the $$ under the table is more like $$ under the bridge as the engineering costs probably cost a bunch from both sides of the aisle. I did read the warranty. That's why I opted for the Bradco. Don't mean to be argumentative, but since you feel that way about Mahindras, maybe you should sell the 4500 and get a 50 hp Woods. I understand some folks think they're better....BobG in VA

BobG - I had a day to mull over my words in my last reply and admittedly, I was a little over-reactive to MUSA's words.

No - you'd have to pull me off my 4500 before I'd give it up. I guess I feel the same about my Wood's 9000. Now I know that Mahindra won't warranty my machine if something happens to it. I'll live with my decision because I really am not worried. Sort of a strange thing though is the dealer I bought my Mahindra from only sells the Wood's line of attachments. No matter your opinion about engineering costs to certify another brand of backhoe - nothing has been done by Mahindra to give their customers a choice other than Bradco. Does Mahindra own Bradco? I hear ya! I was glad that someone was building backhoes for Mahindra. It would have been too high cost to engineer more than one BH. I did some research before ordering the Bradco and found that it has a very good name in the industry. I have a very close friend that has a Woods 7500 on his 1900 Ford )3pt hookup. He pulled the top link out of the back of his tractor with it. Took some welding but its back together again. I've used his and its not much for digging stumps etc (too light). He really likes my set up as it weighs in at about to 11 thousand lbs. (Tractor: 6300/filled rears: 1500or more/front end loader:1500/BH: 2500=11,800). Not much I can't do with it especially with the PTO pump. Good luck with 4500! BobG in VA
