5525 HELP!

Well, I looked at a new 5525 a month ago or so at my dealer. MFWD Cab, 12 speed, Ehitch without loader for $41K. Loader would have been 6K or so. A great deal - the last one they had. I could not justify it.

Lets figure with the newer loader maybe $50K - looks like they are giving you around $17K for your 4120. What was your tractor new - $25K?

Tough call - but there might be some more wiggle room in it.

As several IBN members myself included have pointed out upgrading can be costly. The dealer would still have to sell your tractor and needs to make money off each sale that is made. I would hope the people buying a new smaller tractor with larger acreages will keep this post in mind.

That should be a nice step up though and the 5525 will enable you to handle the same tasks much faster than the 4120.

Well they said $45200 for the 5525, $4400 for the 542 NSL loader. They are giving me $19400 for my tractor. So $30,200 difference without tax. Im thinking im getting more bang for my buck with the 12/12 tractor. I think thats the way im going to go.

Sounds like a fair deal.

Are you going to have to pay tax on the delta?
