553 Loader Question

I'll bet the timing rod on a relatively NEW frt end loader isn't the problem!!

It certainly could be if something happened to it during installation. A lot of funny things happen behind closed doors of dealer's shops...

One easy way for him to verify that it's not that is to simply remove the rod and see if it still binds. My idea may very well be far off the mark, but it can't hurt to look. Better to start out with the small stuff in his own yard, than to pay to haul it to the dealer IMHO

I am betting the 2 holes in the carrier flanges are not parallel to the hole drilled in the steel block on the end of the cylinder. I'll bet they had to drive that pin pretty hard thru the 2nd flange. I can't imagine any other reason the steel block stays jammed against the interior flange? I don't think it is hurting anything and it may be within tolerances. I mean the space between the carrier flanges exceeds the width of the steel block by about an inch. Maybe to allow for tolerances and assembly? It only got my attention when the right side was bouncing around while driving with bucket removed.
