What about your fuel light, is it still on?

The fuel shut off and clear bowl filter are both good ideas. Maybe the next time we have to break into the fuel line.
Our old David Brown Case 1210 made in the '70s has a bowl filter with a drain. The Mahindra has a blind drain. I guess we could use the same technique we used when we were doing some flying and drain it into a cup once in awhile.
So when you say fuel light do you mean fuel or the MIL?
The fuel light shows when you have water in the filter, which would answer that problem.
Drain the filter and if there is any fuel change the filter.
Yeah we all had to use the little cup with the pin to check all the fuel sumps during the preflight. Check for water or contamination and that the right fuel was in the tanks by looking at the color.
My Mitsubishi suffered from a shrunken fuel bowl that no longer accepted filters so I cut the bowl drilled and tapped the bottom and installed a quick drain just like we did for aircraft. (am also a pilot)
Next I added a quality inline automotive plastic filter that takes care of minute crap and I no longer have problems.
The drain-able bowl saves me needing to change filters as often as B4 plus I can see when the inline filter needs changing, also the drain-able bowl lets me see if there is water or crap in it.
Always satisfactory when you can improve somebody else design!
