I inherited this tractor so I have little invested. On the downside, I don't know much about its history. I do know the engine was replaced with a rebuilt engine within the last 200 hours. It runs well and seems pretty strong. The hour meter on the dash does work and has less than 4,000 hours.

How many subframe to front support bolts should there be on each side? There are holes for 4 on each side.

My tractor has only 2 in place on each side. The online parts catalogue indicates only 4 bolts are required, but it's not clear whether this is 4 for each side or 4 in total for the tractor. The service manual is also no help here.

So how many subframe-to-front support bolts should there be on each side?

I'm working strictly from memory, so bear that in mind. I'm thinking there are 2 bolts on each side and 2 tapped holes in the front support on each side. The frame has 4 holes on each side which allows the same frame to accommodate both 3 cylinder engines (555) and 4 cylinder engines (655).

Two Bolts each side. Bolts when tight do not make a solid mounting to the frame. They allow some flexing between the two members.

That is correct

Thanks for the confirming that two bolts each side is indeed correct.
