Does anyone here know what a yard of size 57 crushed limestone weighs?

It will vary pit to pit. Check with the Quarry that you'll be using for the bulk density.

It also veries with how wet it is.

I haul a lot of it. In a single axle 8' bed on a Chevy C60 I can get about 6.5 tons max. That's heaping.

It always seemed that good quality 57s,not the poor, light type that float in concrete mix, weighed about 3300 to 3500 lbs. per cubic yard.I'll be interested to see the result, because someone will look it up.It WILL vary from quarry to quarry, though. don-ohio :)^)

What i found on the internet says #2370 per yd. That sounds too light too me but im used to hauling 57 wash rock. I will call the facility tomorrow and let yall know what they say.

My quick redneck math says about 3000# per yd. Just guessing the bed of the C60 is 8' long by 6' wide and we load about 3.5' deep on average taking into account the heaped center and lower sides.

Thats pretty close to what they told me at the port today. They said #2600-2800.

That's a LOT lighter than I thought it would weigh.I'm doing more cubic yds. per pick-up load than I thought, since I get between 4500-5200 lbs per trip when using my F-250. Doesn't squat the truck much, just barely pushi ng down on the overloads. don-ohio :)^)

I always heard 1.5 tons per yard.

As somebody said earlier, im sure it varies from point if origin. But also there is a lot of airspace in 57 material compared to say 610 material.
