What is 57? what is 610? around here we have Ag sand (aggregate sand, or sand made from limestone) we have 0 to 3/4 which is road base fill that runs from 0 inches to 3/4 inches, in other words, fines all the way to 3/4 rocks. we have 2 inch, 3 inch rock. and 0 to 6 inch fill, and blast rock. Never heard of 57 or 610 except on this forum. I think these limestone rock products have a lot of different names depending on where you are.

I wonder why it is named 57 when it means 1 1/4 to 1 3/4.. or 610?.. when we say 0 to 3/4.. the name describes the product. but 610?.. how did it get that name? we would call what you described as "0 to 1 1/4" and the name describes the product. But 610, must have had a meaning somewhere, somehow... Anyone know? Maybe have something to do with the screen size or number that screens the product? Just guessing..

57 is the AASHTO category. AASHTO – #57 | Laurel Aggregates There are several different gradations depending on who you deal with. The quarry has their own, the dot has their own and the engineering associations have another usually.
