5E 3 point hitch upgrade?

I agree something doesn't sound right. My wife bought a 12' Precision Welding 12FC3S Cultivator loaded last Fall with 21 tines, spike bars, adjustable tires and roller basket on the rear and that thing is heavy. The 5065M had no problem lifting and moving it but she doesn't pull it with it she uses the the 5140 for that. That basket on the back is made with 3/4" rebar and it is heavy and hangs way off the back.

I'd recommend getting a 3000# gauge and checking pressure.

After talking to the dealer I am pretty sure that because most of the rakes weight is about 8 feet behind the tractor it exceeds the lift capacity of the hitch. They suggested I move the top link up to the top hole, but that's about all I can really do. After hay is done I may get it checked out anyway. I guess a 15' rotary rake is a bit much for my little E.

My neighbor has a new model Kuhn rotary rake. Gotta be 14+ feet at least. He uses it behind a 75hp Ford (no loader) - wanna think it's a 7700 or 7710 (don't exactly recall the model..) But, that tractor can't have more lift capacity than your 5093E! Update edit... those Ford's are in the 4,400lb range on the 3pt. So, they do have a lot more "uummph" than your 93e!

But, I'd still have it checked...

Yes have it checked I put my E in the shop for leaking Hyd, leaking fuel tank and tach had stopped working. When I got it back they had torn the entire rear end apart. Apparently there was a problem with my Lift but they said it was fixed. It is a 2012 model 5045

John Deere HEAVY DUTY HITCH KIT LVB25778

This is the kit listed for the 5M series. You would have to check with JD for fit on an E.

I don't think it would work. M series use two lift cylinders. 5093 only uses one cylinder.

The rear transaxle housing on the M's and E's is as different as night and day! The external lift cylinders on the M have a lower attachment point that is integral to the axle housing. So, in order to upgrade the 3pt you would have to basically swap out the entire @ss end of the tractor!

And of course, the rear end of that horse has to attach to the front torso!

I don't think you could build that horse from over here.... ;)

I was looking and I could rig up external cylinders pretty easily but the rear end of the E is pretty light duty compared to the M. I would be worried about breaking the trans housing lifting something too heavy. In the future I may install rear cylinders and just be careful to keep it under 4500lbs or something reasonable.
