Choosing the right tractor depends alot on the use you have for one. People such as Edward and Trent are working in the open primarily with incidental close quarters work. People such as myself are working primarily in close quarters with incidental open areas to work. That makes a huge difference in what type and size tractor to buy.
Here is an example of why I chose the 4520 ehydro for boxblade work there isn't enough room to work a larger tractor and be more effective. This place was a train wreck with a pile of large rocks left all over the yard. We cleaned it up and smoothed it out then hauled in some top soil. The x749 was a real help in reducing the amount of man hours needed for raking around trees.
I wouldn't confuse the benefits of larger frame tractors with compacts, they all have their intended uses. If I were buying a 5000 series machine I wouls start looking at the 5085M as it is a good balance of weight, hp and features. I would not look at the 5045E and expect it to be a good performer thinking it would outwork a 4520 or 4720 for landscape work.
The first pics are preparing the seedbed the latter are after the grass was up.

Thanks guys, but I hope you see my point about close quarters, it would be difficult to fit anything larger in size there.
