The pusherblock on my splitter is 12"wide X 16"tall. If I made a box to put on my wedge, I could crush a case at a time with 30+tons of force. That should be pretty flat.
Has anybody had any luck with those nortrac cylinders sold by northern tool. $200 for a 5"x24". Only one review on the Nothern site and that guy didnt seem very well pleased.
Right now i am going to remove the 4in cylinder from my dump trailer and use that on the splitter. I will keep looking for a 5inch or larger cylinder. I know the 4inch will work and will split probably 90% of the wood I get. Its just when you start trying to split 4 and 6 ways that the bigger cylinders come in handy.
