Did you find it or did you buy it?
If you bought it, you will really like that truck.

There really isnt a bad truck out there today. They are all really nice. I avoid Ford only because of bad past ownership issues and I was a Ford loyalist. Once I bought a GMC 15 years ago and now a Ram 2 years ago, I see the errors of my loyalty. :)

All that’s really left to contest is gas versus diesel and that’s based more on what you use the truck for.
There certainly is! Chevrolet/GM can't make a reliable transmission in at least 2015-current truck and suv models in the 1500 platform. Those are bad trucks. Nearly every 1500 series that GM has made in the last 7 years is suspect.

First truck new 1991 F250 super Duty, super cab, 460 V8. Towed 36 ft King of the Road 5th wheel. It had a 36 gal tank for a reason. Towing up to Loveland Pass and to Breckinridge from Aurora, Co was a chore. Max speed climbing 35 mph….in 2nd, (automatic). Didn’t have a trans. temp gauge but I’m sure it was near meltdown. Two wheel drive. No repairs.

Second truck in 2004, used 2001 F250 Super Duty super Cab V10. Had different 5th wheels but not much towing. Coming back from FL towing a car on a dolly it blew out a spark plug. 13/17 mpg. Two wheel drive. Usually about 8 towing.

Third in 2016 was a used 2011 F150 5L V8 super cab. FWD. RV days are over. Heaviest towing is with an 8 ft dump trailer. Overloaded at time for a gross trailer weight of 11k lbs.
Still a truck but on smooth roads was like a Cadillac. One trans. repair….speed sensing cable(?).

Fourth in 2021 got a used 2016 F150 FWD EcoBoost 3.5L. Rides nice, tows same dump trailer. Took truck fully loaded, inside and in bed, with household goods from 12401 to North Myrtle Beach, SC. 18/25+ mpg. Must be careful when putting pedal to the metal. It takes off like a rocket. No repairs.

I guess im a loyalist.

Then it’s illegal. People are going to jail or getting heavy fines for doing that.
I don’t recommend anyone doing “deletes”.
Depends on where you live and what year the truck is.

As is the 8 speed in my Colorado. The 6 speed was severely problematic.

Are you referring to the 6 speed in the half ton trucks? The 3/4 ton I bough has a 6 speed, but I believe it is different than what is in the half tons (2015).

Yeah, the 1500 6 speed had torque converter issues.

Get your fluid changed, keep it on a regular schedule.

Funny you say that-I had already scheduled a transmission service next week as it is approaching 45k miles, which is the factory service interval anyway
