6 loads in a Kubota BX24 = 128 cubic feet of wood/ 1 cord - No Welding

I finally put together a modification so that I can get a good amount of firewood in my Kubota Tractor. The tractor only lifts 600 lbs, so super green stuff could be too heavy:
Harbor Freight for the aluminum rack for $95. $50 for the Aluminum sleeve and aluminum sides. No Welding or drilling except for the 2" receiver that I had on the bucket for moving trailers. This unit is extremely light being all Aluminum. I love the fact that no drilling or welding was required. I do think that drilling the side aluminum strips and pinning them in place would be an upgrade.

I would get a small (4x8 or 5x10) trailer for wood. Using the FEL is ok, but it makes for a lot of trips. And when you are splitting you can just toss it onto the trailer.

nice job! I built a carry all for carrying same amount of wood on 3pt instead and I can just drop and go without unloading.

I've been palletizing my split oak and ash wood as I split, and put about 1/5 of a cord on a pallet. Move them with forks either on the FEL or the 3 ph. Stack two high for two years drying and then move to garage for the wood burner. No extra handling once on the pallet from the splitter. Can split about two pallets in an hour and a half....then I rest.

I transport the wood to the house to burn and I load the wood shed from the chopping area. My brother and I will hopefully have 30 cord by this fall. we are almost at 20 cord right now. We will probably sell some.

The disadvantage of the trailer is that you are loading horizontilly versus with this you are loading verticle.

It is really nice to put the wood right next the the stack and you don't have to bend over or walk - you just turn.

I have tossed around the pallet idea, but I can't store all the wood on pallets as the wood is in a 10x20 shed x 8 feet high. I like the backhoe on the back as it gives me a lot more lifting options. I live on the cut out of a steep hill.
