Wonder if they modify fuel map on rentals because of that happening so much, but then one traffic less Sunday morning in Germany I was able to verify the speed limiter on my Audi A6 actually limited it to its advertised 255 kph and figured it was not detuned unless it had the ability to sense fuel quality. But - driving that speed did not come from going there, renting a speedy car, and going to try it out. Hundreds of thousands of miles and training before doing that and then lucking out to be provided such a rental without special request.
