60" MMM YOKE MOUNTING PROBLEM

Re: 60\" MMM YOKE MOUNTING PROBLEM

I do not use any grease on the coupling or the PTO shaft. In fact I use solvent to clean the shaft and coupler. Where there is grease there is dirt and lots of it. Mine works really good in this manner. Grease just seemed to hamper my attaching to the PTO shaft. It works well, try it!

Re: 60\" MMM YOKE MOUNTING PROBLEM

John,
I took my BX2200 in for service yesterday 08/06/03 to pick up on Monday 08/11/03. I also took my yoke to the MMM for him to play around with. I also told him about the other messages that other people we having the same trouble and that you had talked with the Kubota rep. He said that he would order me a new yoke and should have it by Monday.
Will let you know. Tnks for the help

Don

I received and installed the new yoke yesterday. It slides on MUCH easier. I also noticed that the deck is much quieter than it was with the old yoke. I think my original yoke was defective.

Re: 60\" MMM YOKE MOUNTING PROBLEM

John,
I actually just got my BX2200 back from being serviced yesterday. Only charged $168.00 including tax for the 50 hour service, which I thought was not to bad considering all I have read about on this forum. Well anyway, the new yoke for my MMM was not in yet, as he said that Kubota was behind in their warranty parts and this had to come from some other place???? right, but he did say that it should be in by Monday. Got tractor home, mounted the MMM (yoke still hard to get on PTO), then began mowing. I started noticeing that the deck as dropping down on the left side, put it back on the concrete and made adjustments, but it still was lower. Made adjustments to the right side, but this did not help. A friend of mine stopped by and noticed that the rear tires were inflated differently from they way they were sitting on the concrete. I checked the pressure and the right side had 14 lbs, which is proper and the left have 10 lbs, but the right side was tire was noticeably more rounded than the left, even after I inflated the left tire to 14 lbs. I then readjusted the deck and was able to get it a little better, but it is still not right. I really do not know what happened but I had not made any adjustments to the deck or linkage before I took tractor to dealer that would have made it that far out of level.
Have you had any problems like this?

Re: 60\" MMM YOKE MOUNTING PROBLEM

I will check my deck tomorrow but I believe it is level. At least it was level a few weeks ago when I checked it.

Sorry to hear that your yoke is still hard to get on. Mine is as smooth as silk now and the deck is much quieter when the engine is running at 3000 RPM.
