Is that a flat tire on your front left, or an optical delusion?

Good eyes !! it was tire squat from the large piece of concrete in the bucket...the concrete was close to 1,200 lbs...

Re: 60\" tiller JD 4110

Hypernix,
I may end up working inside a fence (too many critters) so handling in tight spaces will be an issue.ducati says he covers his 4100 tracks with a 48". Maybe I should reconsider. Btw I see your from New Brunswick, How far north? I was wondering about length of growing season and it's effect on gardening there.

Re: 60\" tiller JD 4110

oscer,

I'm in the north (western side) section of NB, about 30 minutes from the Quebec border.

I usually start planting the green house around mid May. I also "try" to be done planting the garden by the beginning of June. By the end of September pretty much everything has been picked up.

This year I was ready to plant the garden earlier (around May 20th) then it started to rain and rain and rain for almost (if not more!) two weeks in a row and ended up finishing the garden around June 10! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif And now it only rained a few times in the last month! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Anyways, we just started to pick beans and peas last week! The corn is not going to make it in time I think this year /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif The potatoes and cabbage are looking good though.

In the last few years we have seen more hot days than usual but I haven't noticed much difference in the garden. Although I have been doing this for a few years now, I still have much to learn! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: 60\" tiller JD 4110

Hypernix,

I'm in Central Pennsylvania. We've been in drought stage all summer. Things are doing surprisingly well, though. My garden is small, but if I solve this tiller problem, I'd like to expand and try to grow sweet corn. I'm sure my next problem is going to be deer and raccoons.

Re: 60\" tiller JD 4110

Jonesiera,
I've been able to buy some pretty good corn here. Full ears sweet taste not tough. Haven't tried to grow my own yet but I'm looking forward to it. We have two competing ideas. My wife says plant a lot and hope for a little, I say build a fence and plant a little. We'll see how it goes next season.
