6065 6075 Vulnerability Alert

Hey guys, just a heads up. ON 6065 & 6075 Tractors the Massive Beams the side steps and battery are bolted to are bolted to the transmission on the side where it is only 3/8" thick. So if you unknowingly catch a little (6") stump with the step it will bend the beam until it breaks a hole out of the transmission and causes $20k damage to your brand new tractor. Now my 6065 has to come completely apart for a new transmission case and I will be without it for weeks or months.
I know it's not the tractors fault but I have some thoughts... Don't bolt the beam to the cast iron transmission! If you do bolt the beam there make the beam flimsy as to make it sacrificial instead of sacrificing the transmission! ARGH!

So whatever you do don't do this, or relocate your step and battery brackets or maybe cut off the bottom step and make it hinged or removable.View attachment 581850

Man - THAT makes me sick and almost puke. But, I'm pretty sure you have already taken care of that puking part. Bright and early I'll be checking the step on my Kubota.

Its real easy to say - "that sort of situation isn't where a tractor is designed to be" But we have all been there - thanks so much for the heads up - TCB66 and best of luck.

Thank you for the heads up. That makes me cringe. Bad luck.

Are you letting the dealer repair this or do you have an independent shop on this? That looks like splitting the tractor and a lot of labor in addition to parts. Again thank you for sharing this.

If you have to start over, would you pick a 6065 again?

Just Got it back Yesterday. New Transmission from dealer. Removing Right side step, bracket and battery. Relocating battery to back of tractor, Then it's going to metal shop to fab single skidplate that runs from front of loader bracket to rear of loader bracket and beyond to rear hitch and up sides to encase fuel tank on lh side and rigging on rh side. They loaned me my old 2555 so I had that to use while mine was down. 79 Hours on the clock. It's kind of like getting a new tractor again!

Besides the loaner, is the dealer taking care of some of those expenses!?

I feel for u. I bent the step on my Kioti; the difference being the step is bolted to the tractor frame.
