62\" MMM tips

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on the best way to adjust a 62” deck on a 2305? I’ve had it on and off a couple of times and it never looks the same when reinstalled. The front end of the deck looks higher also should the wheels touch the ground when in mowing position?

Re: 62\" MMM tips

I'm not sure if the 2305 uses the 62C like the 2210 did, but adjusting front-to-front and side-to-side is pretty easy. As for the guage wheels, what I do is park on my concrete carport, lower the deck to my normal mowing height, and then drop the wheels to the lowest setting they'll go to WITHOUT touching the ground.

Re: 62\" MMM tips

On a JD deck, the gauge wheels are to prevent scalping, not carry the deck. If you set them as described above, on concrete, when you go out to mow, your gauge wheels may be trying to carry part of the weight of the deck, that's not their purpose and will shorten their lives. They are not supposed to carry the deck while mowing!!!
According to Kubota users, their gauge wheels carry the deck so this rule certainly doesn't apply. But if your tractor has an adjustment mechanism to determine mowing height, then the gauge wheels should float, not carry weight.

Re: 62\" MMM tips

The deck wheels are suppose to be set 1/4"-1/2" above the ground.
