Can you put 12.4 42 tires on a 6230 JD without axles?

What do you mean by no axles. Well obviously no if there is no drive getting to the tires the tires will not spin unless its a magical tire.

Seriously now...to the OP, welcome to TBN, and I assume you're in Greeley, Colorado. If so, contact Colorado Equipment as they are you're local Deere dealer.

Now... if I had to make a "reasonable" guess at what the OP was asking... he's wondering if you can put a larger tire/rim combination on a tractor that has a bolt/hub configuration versus the adjustable axle stub configuration.

Sound reasonable?

Now, I don't know if that particular tire would fit - given the dimensions of the tractors fenders, etc. And I wouldn't venture how that tire size might affect the transmission ratios and the final drive of the tractor.

If you're referring to the type rear axles called "flanged"(similar to photo) that the wheel bolts to with 8 bolts I didn't find a 42" wheel listed in either 6230 parts catalog.

That's what the JD rep's called them at the sales meetings I attended when I worked for a dealer.
