Don't know the sizes, but my dealer installed Gator blades at the 50 hr servicing. I like the results even better than the factory blades which were quite good. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I will get getting a set of Gator Blades for my 54C deck next week. I have had good luck with the factory blades, but on all decks I have ever had I have habitiual problems with the deck loading up. I have a very coarse lawn (more honestly a short mown field).
JD offers the standard lift (factory) and high lift blades (higher lift but not slotted like Gators). I've heard nothing but good about the Gators, so that's where I'm goin'.
Hey IOWA2210 - what's the Gator blade number for the 54C? I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my 54C, but, all I've found are Gator 'mulching' blades, which I'm not really after. The OEM # on my blades is M143520. Does anyone know of a blade cross-reference chart somewhere? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Here is one link to a gator cross reference. And here is the complete Oregon listing for blades. They make the Gator line of blades. It is in section II page 22. Listed in order under John Deere, then by length.
I guess I thought all Gator blades were considered the "mulching" blade. I know they make a regular and a magnum blade. I have the regulars. But of course didn't look at the part numbers before I started to use them. Hmmmmph, well when I'm down to get the supplies for my 50hr service, I'll see if the dealer can pull the a part number on those blades.
OOPSIE!! My bad. All the Gators are mulchers, it appears, now that I finally got that .pdf Oregon file to load.
I'm going for the Gator #91-470 Mulcher Magnums. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Hey, with "Magnum" in the name, it's gotta be great, right? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
