I noticed that almost every pic I look at of the 62D it has pins through front brackets for moving the deck around with the iMatch or 3 point lower arms.....heres the problem...mine doesn't have the pins or even the brackets for the pins to go through...did JD change the deck for 2010 or did they forget to weld them on mine...? heres a pic of the brackets im talking about that im missing....

Hey mcgill,
I'm pretty sure 2009 decks were the last ones to have those brackets.
They are indeed nice to have.

Why the change?

Why the change?

My guess would be cost savings...

i used the mounts a couple times to move the mower when I first got it.. BUT the Pats EZ changes didnt fit them, so now I hook a chain to them to lift the mower up when I put on the axles to store the mower upright..

I also just got a new 2520, with the 62D, and the deck doesn't have the lifting brackets. I think they have discontinued this feature. I'm not happy about it, the "Stow & Go" feature of the deck was one of the main things I was looking forward to.

My dealer is trying to get an answer from JD just as to why this feature has been discontinued. He seems to think there may have been some safety issues with it.

A real bummer, they still show it on the JD website videos, and it is still referred to in all the brochures. I told my dealer there should be some kind of a discount, since when I ordered it, everyone, including him thought it would have the "Stow & Go" feature. My dealer even described how it worked, and said that you could actually tilt the deck up once it was on the 3 PTH to clean or service it. So much for that feature I guess.

I'm not holding my breath on any discount, but JD should have made all the dealers aware of the change, so people like me don't get that "Bad Taste" after the fact.

Seems like they eliminated the brackets about the time they added the garden hose wash-out fitting. I'd rather have the brackets.

the dealer told me if I needed to lift and move the deck to use straps hooked to the loader ...lol

I too was disappointed when I got my 2320 with 62D at the end of July. My salesman said it was discontinued due to too much confusion with the customers in regards to hooking it up for stow and go and for mowing. That might coincide with the safety factor as mentioned. You would think if it was cost saving measure, they could have left it as an option.

Mine has them, never used them. Never will.

I was at my dealer today, and he apparently did get a call from JD about why the lifting brackets are no longer on the 62D mower decks.

He said that JD had done a market analysis and that the majority of buyers did not consider this as a "High Priority" feature of the deck, so JD decided to no longer include brackets on the decks.

Apparently nothing to do with safety, just that in JD's opinion, because the feature was not perceived as that much of a benefit by the consumer, they may as well save the cost and not include them. (Apparently this cost savings was passed on to the consumer.......yea right......if you believe that, I've got this nice bridge for sale.)

They sure didn't ask me, I was expecting them to be there. My salesman assumed there must have been a service bulletin stating that the brackets were going to be discontinued, but the info never got their sales people.

I couldn't even order a set to have then installed after the fact.. They have been permanently discontinued.
