You could coat your deck with whatever graphite type paint you choose, and then use Mo-dek, or Mo-eze. I've used Mo-dek on my Scag Wildcat ZTM with 61" deck, with good results. Check out this site too, for discussion about these issues, brands of graphite paint, etc, and how to solve them.

Thanks for the info on Mo Deck - will definitely look into it. Actually had I known about it I could have ordered it with the Gator blades from mowtownusa.

I've been using Fluid Film since I always have some around - it does OK but nothing great for under the deck.

I think the combination of the graphite paint plus Mo Deck or Fluid Film might be the best combination.

We have the 62D deck and use the built in water hose cleaning adapter. It cleans the deck perfectly with nothing left under the deck. To operate properly the deck MUST be lowered all the to the ground while using. We raise and lower the deck a few times during the automatic washing.

When finished it is so clean you could almost paint it. Have had no ill effects from doing this usually about every other use. Deck is over four years old and clean as new. Our yard is an acre. Use the leaf blower to blow off entire tractor including the deck. The blowing and washing takes about 15 minutes total. We have the mulching adapter kit and use both the mulching blades from John Deere and Gators high lift.

Nice to hear the washout port works for you. Myself, there will be no water coming anywhere near any bearings unless it has cooled after mowing for at least 4 hours. By then any buildup would never come off without a scraper anyway.

I don't believe the zero turn's and tractors use the same 7 Iron deck.

Greg

I agree - I've been out of the loop with new tractors for a while, but from when I remember, the only way to get the 7 Iron deck was to buy a commercial zero turn. I don't know if they ever made the 7 Iron deck available for any compact diesels.

Thought I would update my progress.

I had a lul with mowing during a relative dry spell, so I took the deck off to scrape and pressure wash it. While I had it off and clean, I decided since I was that far into it, I would continue and grind it down and apply the graphite paint. Got the underside all clean with a drill wire brush and grinder and applied the first coat of EX-Slide today. Going to keep adding coats until the quart can is empty. Then my plan is a nice coating of Fluid Film and install my new Gator Blades.

Hope it works - I don't know what else to do short of having the deck powder coated. Hopefully the combination of the graphite paint and Gator blades will at help some. I'll report back after my initial mower which should be early next week.

I have been using my grandfathers 2305 with the 62"deck and have had no problems with grass sticking. I mow at 3" with just the factory blades. The wetness you have n your property must be the main cause of your issues.
