We have had the CV joint between the engine and transmission fail on both our 6310 tractors. One tractor has failed twice! Has anyone else had the same problem?John deere have replaced the failed cv joint but its non greasable ? Any opinions?
Regards
Robert

Universal joint? You've had 3 fail?? I'd say it is the replacement part at fault. I find it hard to believe two tractors would have the same problem.

Thanks ,I have spoken to others and its a very common problem . the universal joint costs $1300 aus plus fitting costs, cab needs to be tilted over. I am looking at manufacturing a grease able joint to suit. One of 6310 tractors broke the universal joint and it damaged the aluminium transmission costing $11,000 to repair. Any Ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.....

Robert,
As bad as it sounds, if I had your tractor I would be looking at trading it in on something else.
