Good morning all,

I need a new fuel line which goes from the fuel petcock to the first fuel filter.
My tractor does not have a lift pump.

I tried a local dealer and they are asking $130.
Pretty pricey for a rubber hose and a pair of fittings.

I brought it to a local parts dealer and buddy said hes never seen these kinds of fittings.

Does anyone know where I can find said part at a better price?

Thanks all for the help,

Mean Jean

Cut the orig. line & put the rubber over it, using the orig. fittings.

Cut the orig. line & put the rubber over it, using the orig. fittings.

Fittings leak both at the thread and where it joins the rubber line.
I put a poop ton of nylon around the threads and it quelled the flow a bit but not enough.

Must be something's cracked, split or distorted. Or the pipe is not the original and the thread is wrong? I'm surprised, presuming it's a diesel, there is no lift pump - are you sure? Can your local diesel pump shop help?

Good morning and thank you for the reply. The fittings are original, as are the first first 2 inches of metal fuel line. A rubber fuel line has been attached between the 2 ends.

Yes, no lift pump. More than enough gravity pressure to feed the beast.

Hi Jean, it sounds like we need some clear, close-up photographs of the fittings to get a good view and try to put some light on it for you. Can you do that for us please?

On the end of the line, is it rounded & THATS what does the sealing?? or does it have about a 1/4" steel portion of line that sticks out the end??
IF theres a portion of line.. it requires a rubber "olive" seal to seal it properly.. Look up in your old fitting.. NOT the line itself but what the line screws into.. is there a rubber olive seal UP IN it??

G'day they will be 1/2" unf thread if you get a number 8 JIC fitting with a 1/4" hose barb and fit to the fuel tank and the filter housing with a good smear of liquid teflon then join with some rubber fuel line should be good to go, as the pumpguy said some fittings need a rubber olive so have a look first that the old olives aren't still in there. The JIC fittings should butt in and seal on the taper but sometimes they don't so the teflon is a backup.

Thank you all for the replies.

Will be removing the hose this week as I've finally received all the parts required to install my loader.
Can post pictures at that time.

Yes, I suppose I can try fixing what is already there.

Does any one know where I can source a new one for less than $130?
If I can but a newbie for $50 I will gladly pay up and move on.
