Dealer put rimgaurd in the tires before he delivered it. I think it is about 14lbs? per gal.

Bob,

Did you turn your rims inside out on the rear to widen the tractor? My dealer is contemplating doing this with my 6500 I have on order. If you did this as it looks like in the picture, how much width did you gain? And was there a similar option in the front? From the looks of the picture you just did the rear?

I have owned 8 wheel tractors since 1969. All but one had their tires loaded with chloride. One had it for for over 25 years. Never had a problem with corrosion. You do need to install tubes.

Both rear and front rims are turned out (widest possible). I'm not sure how many inches I gained. Rear wheels are about 80-82 inches wide. Front tires are about 74-75 inches wide. (Estimating measurements based on bucket width of 78 inches.) Highly recommend for loader use and winching (particularly if not a straight on winch).

Tim:

I mispoke in my previous post. The front tires are not in the widest position. They are in the next-to-widest position.

I'm sure when my tractor comes in I will be able to see the best configuration for the front tires. I wanted to make sure the back tires were right from the dealer as they will be filling them with calcium solution, and I don't like the idea of having to move them when they're full /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Might be a little heavy to work with.

Really like your setup there with the grapple and saw mounts. I was going to make a saw mount for my JEEP, but after seeing your tractor I've got a few more ideas. Looks like you are having a lot of fun!

Just another way to make a chain saw holder. This shelf will hold 2 saws, oil gas etc. I it attached to my winch operator protection piece.

The holder is just a roughcut (2") 2x6 that I bored into lenghwise. Could probably use a reg (11/2") 2x6 if your boring aim is good.

Looks like the holder will do the trick. One of the disadvantages of my left side holder is it makes exiting the tractor a little more difficult.

Guys, I'm out of here. In about an hour heading to Daytona Beach for bike week. Bikes are loaded in the trailer and I'm raring to go. Going to spend my "hard earned" logging money. It has been fun corresponding with you.
