I am pro-citgo because they are the supplier of my diesel fuels. Other fuel sources are 30 minutes away. Guess I'll have to shop smarter.

Actually yes, I believe that you can affect change. And that individuall voices can effect change when their cause is commonly held and becomes a popular movement.

The State of Florida has a deal with Citgo, all the gas sold on the Florida Turnpike is Cigto. Because of anti-American statements, the State of Florida is now looking to break their contract with Citgo, or at very least not renew it.

Now look at the Dixie Chicks. They upset some of their fans, now they have a difficult time selling out concerts. Their loyal fan base turned against them.

It is a simply law of supply and demand. When you have the supply, you should not upset the folks who demand your product because they can choose to switch their product choices. It matters not if you have oil or if you sing music or whatever you have to sell. Don't upset your customer base and you won't lose the demand for your goods.

I've boycotted CITGO ever since it was nationalized, not to mention the fact that their products are shoddy, Venezualan sour crude is some of the dirtest crud (crude) on earth and takes some serious catalytic cracking just to make any product out of it.

Chavez's PR campaign to sell heating oil here is a joke too, the average per capita income in his third world dictatorship is about $1,800 per year, while the US is about $42,000, so he's stealing from his peasants to give aways to the imperalists..... LOL

It's interesting that this has not really made it to the drive by media or at least if it has, I am not aware of it. It's a very important point and one I'm afraid is lost on most Americans judging from the op/ed pages in the larger newspapers. They have not pointed out Chavez to be the hypocrite he really is.

Oil is a comodity and is being traded on the market. When we buy gas from any retailer, we don't know for sure where the oil was from. The retailer and brand name only give you a hint of the refinery and the distribution channel.
