Anybody remember steel tipped lawn darts?

I got shot in the face by a neighborhood bully when I was about 13. Took the bullet in the cheek and it hit my wisdom tooth in the back of my face. If not it would have went towards my ear.

Those things are not as safe as you might think. Parents are great to start with something like a BB gun but they can still be dangerous.

Oh yes I do! The ones we had were called "Jarts". My Dad really enjoyed playing Jarts. I still have a set in the original box somewheres as a reminder of the 60's...

and we had Daisy's and did some fighting with them...but mostly set up army men in the basements and had BB gun Army Men wars. You set up your men and hoped the other guy wasn't a great shot. We used cardboard boxes as backstops..

Now rock throwing...lucky I made it to a teeneager

Had that been me as a youngster....my Daddy would have had me bent over and would have whipped me until I wet my pants. Then he would have whipped me a couple or three more swats for good measure. I will guarantee you I would not have done that EVER AGAIN.
