I have thought of having a new edge welded on!

Find a stump about 2-3 feet tall, flip the bucket over and put the top of the bent area on the stump. That will support the bucket while you use the sledge.

Cut a slice through the worst part of the bend so the metal has a place to go. Weld it back up after you have it straight.

Just for what it's worth. To me, using steady pressure is ALWAYS better than a hammer at almost any stuck or bent thing.

I have on ocassion drilled holes in work where one couldn't get a puller, clamps or a vice on. Then used bolts or threaded rod to pull the thing back into position. Finally, weld the holes closed and grind them up pretty again.

Yep, agree with this method. You need to take out a bit of the "stretched material".

Making a sawcut through the bend also allows you to work half the material at a time. Better to move a corner than flatten an arch.

Cut out the bent piece and weld in a new piece.

The slice it, heat it, real big hammer, then a new weld on cutting edge.
