72 inch MMM raise and lower

Just got my JD3320 with 72" mid-mount mower. Cuts great, the only thing I'm not sure about is that it barely moves when I operate the 3rd SCV. As in it might move a half an inch either direction. Is this normal? I was hoping to be able to pick it up quite a ways when not using it.

I haven't really had time to get under there and look at it yet as I just got it today, but I thought there might be a quick answer. Thanks.

I have a 4310 with the 72" MMM and I adjusted the turn buckles on the rear as high as I could and lowered the deck height adjust down and re-leveled the deck. I have about 6 inches under the deck, or about 3 inches under the deck wheels when all the way up. I take the deck off when I use the loader or box blade. The deck is too expensive to tear it up when doing other work that I really need the clearance for.

I'll give that a try, thanks. Haven't attempted removing the deck yet, either.

It is not hard to get off, but it is very heavy to move once off. When I clean mine it is all I can do to lift it up to clean it out.
