Own a 2520 with the 62d drive over deck... Was used to a 955 with a 72" deck.

Have seen many 72" decks for sale, off of 4 series units.. Any way to tell what's compatible? I looked on JD's site and saw one that fits the 4115 will fit. However, the site also only shows 7-Iron decks for 4 series tractors, and the ones I see are not the iron decks..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For future owners trying to do this, JD got me some PNs..

LVB25263 is the attaching parts for the 72" deck.
LVB25302 is the front hitch adapter (pretty sure I don't need coming from the 62" deck that already has this)
LVB24962 is the optional lock up kit for locking the Mmm up while using the rear 3pt.

I've ordered the attaching parts and will confirm all when I can.

Is that extra 10" of cut really worth giving up the "piece of cake to install/remove" drive over deck??

For 5 acres, yeah. I wasn't real fond of the 62" deck... I'd always had the 72's and never had any issues.

Had some belt issues with my 62", that I believe are resolved, but not 100% sure. Wanted a 72 from the get go, but got a good deal on the tractor & loader, only had 62.

You piqued my interest with this thread. I have a 62D on my 2720 and the drive over feature is nice. Two things:

1) is the 72" you are pursuing a drive over? Or is it the slide out "C" model?

2) I would really like some feedback on the lock-up kit as it may come in handy in the off season when don't have the MMM installed.

Thanks for any and all input.

Nah, no drive over. Have a loader, it picks the front up just fine.

I'm pretty sure the lockup for the 62 is different. The only real difference I can see from pics of the attaching arms is how the one crosses over to pick up the arm to lift the 72" deck.

I'd love to see pictures of any guys with a 72 mounted as I admit, I am doing this a bit blind (trusting JD)

It sounds like it may be comparable to the 62C I have on my 2305. Can I get you to post a couple of pictures of you 72 so I can see what you are looking at? My 2305 doesn't have a lock up kit as I bought the hydraulic lift before they offered the bypass valve.

Thank you so much for replying!!

Are the belt issues why you weren't fond of the 62? Curious, because I don't know what's not to like about the 62D.:)

Lock up kit is the same for both decks. Should be different because of the weight difference is hard on that kit. Brackets bend and turnbuckles break. I'll post a picture of the 72". Having had both, the 62" and 72", the 72" is the better mower if you have room for it in your yard.

You bet. At an actual 73" cut and large yard this deck took 45+ minutes off mowing time. The deck is not hard getting on and off plus most users probably never take it off during the season.
