WOW! I'm blown away with your skills, ingenuity and energy.

Glad you've joined TBN. I love barns and especially Monitor style.

Perhaps this winter you can write a book about your barn project and sell it on the Web. The book could be part inspirational and part DIY.

Where did you get the plans?

I did the design and the plans myself. If you can't make it work on paper, STOP. Spent the first winter making sure that it would work on paper and that we could build and use Derrick to be able to do each step required. There was no way that I could have done the high frame work by myself without the help of Derrick. Lin does as much as she can, but is limited to how much she can lift, and does not do high ladders or roofs.

About the book idea. I started it last winter, have a little over 100 pages and 300 pictures done so far. Right now it is in PDF form. Would like to be able to set it up so it will be downloadable as an e-book. Finish product at around 250 to 300 pages with 800 or so pictures. It will cover the whole story including details of how it was done and cost and options that were considered. Wonder what kind of demand there is for a book like that and how we should price it. Thinking $9.99 would be a good base price, but $4.99 would probably sell better. Any ideas on this?
Thanks

Just a couple of pics for the reason of no progress lately.
Some of you may have heard of this storm, The Christmas Day Storm of 2012.
It started on Christmas day and went thru the night. We got at least eight inches on top of an eighth inch of ice. Some of Arkansas got as much as fourteen inches and thousands were out of power. Power outages ran as long, for a lot of folks, as much as ten days. This was very unusual for Arkansas. We were very lucky and only had power snicks, a couple of times. Very cold here since then also. The snow on the barn north side roof has not completely left as of today.(1-5-13)

Made for some very pretty pictures.

We come from New England, so this is no big deal for us, but here in these small towns that rarely see any snow depth, it is a problem. They don't have any snow plows. We just stay at home and hope it melts.

It did kind of seem nice to see it again on Christmas.
Sure wish it hadn't caused so much trouble.
