My 723 FEL hoses are rubbing the paint off of the 3830's hood, despite the fabric-like covering over the hoses. I have a zip tie around the hoses attached to the d-ring looking add-on on the loader arm for now in an attempt to keep this from happening some more, but surely there is a better way?

My L3430 has the same problem. Also the L3130 at the rental store nearby. I touched up the paint this summer, but I am not going to worry about the hood as it will just rub off again.

Do you have a picture of this. I am having a hard time envisioning how your hoses lay. The hoses on my LA723 and L3130 loop up then straight down to connect to the valves. The only way I can see that they would touch the hood would be for the connection to the hard lines to be twisted over somehow.

I remember having the same problem. I believe I cracked the lines loose where they connect to the hard steel lines, twisted the hoses to preload their tendancy away from the sheet metal, tightened them back up. Problem cured.
If this doesn't work for you, try alchol, it numbs the pain.

I have the same problem with my L2800 and did just what you did only with a piece of rope, I will try to do what AtrimMan did so it will free up the FEl pin storage hole.

AntrimMan has the answer. It is where I was heading. Sloppy assembly and inspection by the dealer.

Thanks AntrimMan,

Just got in from working in the shop and I cracked my lines loose and rotated. That fixed it up fine. I will have to touch up the paint now when (if) it warms up.

I'm pleased to be of some help.
As far as "when it warms up"... thats where the alcohols comes into play. There's nothing like painting at 20*F in poor lighting with a good buzz on, makes no difference in my results.

All the best,
Martin

HELLO TO ALL,
i had the same problem with my
L3000DT. i used two heavy duty
nylon tywraps to the loader arm.
glad to learn i could have solve this
problem by adjusting the hose connections.
i may do this later.
