Is this {see attachment} the way the FEL is supposed to look when it's removed?

Thanks, spencer200!!

Another question...any suggestions for stopping the FEL from moving forward when reinstalling? As the picture showed, I had it up against my trusty Wheel Horse, but I still moved the FEL (and the Wheel Horse /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) about two feet forward before getting the FEL reinstalled.

Also, for anyone who has not removed the FEL...it makes it much easier to mow and there's much less scuffing.

yeah! leave the bucket in the dumped position the owners manuals used to say this when this loader was installed on the 20 series but they do not any longer make sure if you do this that you let the pressure of the lines before disconecting them, I would also find a shady spot to do it so the sun does not heat the oil and expand it creating pressure on the lines when you try to reconnect them, if it does you may find them a pain to reconnect in the you know where. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mike, in your picture I can see that your hose ends have a 45 degree connection before the disconnect. My loader has this same setup for my TC30. I don't know why they put the 45's on there. They make my connections difficult to install. They are such a pain that I may pay a shop to remove them and put on straight fittings. I know that your tractor has the connections in a different location than mine. How does this hose end configuration workout for you?

FWIW, it doesn't look to me like you've extended the cylinders fully. I've got a 7308 that--when taken off of my TC29--will sit completely flat on the ground (instead of the 45 degree angle that yours appears to be at). This is IMHO much safer.

Also, I too have problems with the whole FEL moving forward when trying to put it back on. I've taken to making sure that I take it off with the bucket resting up against a hill or a wall.

Jerry - all four connectors are 45s. I didn't have any trouble connecting or disconnecting them.

Michael - you're correct, the cylinders were not fully extended, which is mentioned in the instructions as well. The next time, I will put the bucket in full dump position and make sure those cylinders are in the full extended position. I think when I got them to this postion I was concentrating on the bucket moving forward, and forgot to keep moving backwards. I'll do better my second time /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I plan on taking the FEL off each time I mow. I'd keep it off, until I need it, but I have no place to store the FEL except on the tractor, in the garage.

Have had my tc30 with same loader for 9+ years , never took mine off . As far as easier mowing ?? Not sure but thinking you mean so you don't have to turn to avoid hitting something with bucket , thus less scuffing ?? I am the opposite , While brush hogging our fields , I use the bucket as a extended bumper , Better to bang into a oak tree with the bucket than the front of the tractor .

Also thinking that my connections are all straight , not 45 , but like I wrote , have had it for 9+ years , so who knows what designs have changed since .
