I need help quickly! I have someone coming tomorrow to replace footings on my porch and I need my loader to lift and sopport the deck to shor it up. I tried to mount the loader today with no luck. I can't get the couplers to engage no matter what I do. I tried to relieve pressure by draining oil from the sump. I tried hitting the pins on the male (loader side) with a hammer and striking the female (tractor side) with a drift pin all to no avail! I removed the loader in March when the average temp. was 40 degrees. Today it is 84 degrees where the loader sits. Am I beat? Should I cancell the appointment for tomorrow? Does anyone have any ideas?
Dissappointed and frustrated am I and my wife is loosing her appreciation for tractors as the ultimate power tool! Please HELP!

Take a wrench and just loosen the hose ends at the cylinders, or where the Quick disconnect threads onto the hose end. You might want to wrap a rag around the fitting so it doesn't spray all over the place when you do it.

Arthur, with the tractor engine off, you can move the joystick around in all directions and that relieves all the pressure on the tractor side; nothing more need be done. On the hoses (loader side), I've never had any problem relieving the pressure by tapping the pin (or ball) on the male connectors or using a drift pin on the female connectors, but as has already been said, you can take a couple of wrenches and loosen the fittings to relieve pressure. And I don't mean to be facetious, but are you holding the locking ring back on the female connector while you push it onto the male connector? If not, that's your problem.

To: Russ, Bird & Gene,
The suggestion made by Gene worked like a charm! I loosened all the fittings at the cylinder connections and enough fluid weeped from all those connections to allow the male connectors to marry right-up to the females. I got it mounted and prepared for the job I had contracted for in last moment! Thanks to all for their valuable input! That's what makes tihs forum GREAT!

Well Russ, you can't win 'em all! But you come up with so many winners normally anyway, you can let one slip by once in awhile without feeling too bad! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

P.S. Do you get private messages? I hope so - 'cause I sent you one! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
