Hi,

I've got a 7308 Loader on a TC-30 and the hydraulic hoses on the 7308 are near the end of their service. After replacing four with hoses from Messicks another hose started dripping, so I'd like to replace them all at once rather than play whack-a-mole. However, the hoses from Messicks are pretty spendy, especially the long hoses from the controller at $164 each, four needed. I tried calling a shop I've used to build hoses in the past but it seems everyone is swamped; I never got past on-hold after 20 minutes. So I figured I'd try through a custom hydraulic hose web site.

Has anyone ever ordered from one of these web sites?

The hose size is 3/8" but what fittings are used on these hoses? I think all the female fittings are the same, and probably the male fittings, but there seems to be quite a few fitting types to choose from when ordering a hose. Or, if someone has a way to identify a fitting, I can disconnect the hose an take a look.

Thanks.

The hose fittings on that loader are -8 JIC at the cylinders and steel tubes and 3/8"NPT at the QD fittings.

Thanks! So all the hoses have female -8 JIC (37 degree flare, 3/4"-16) fittings except the long hoses. The long hoses have a male -8 JIC fitting on one end and a male 3/8" NPT fitting on the other.

I recently replaced all the hydraulic hoses on my 7308 and bought them at a local shop that makes up the hoses. The hose is cheap but the fittings can be $10 each. Your town may not have a shop that makes them but I know Austin will.

I'm most fortunate here. Spokane has a company - House of Hose - they specialize in everything hydraulic.

Alot of napa and oriley auto parts stores make hoses as well. Just take the old ones in.

Or if you know the ends and lengths, you can order them online at a place like discount hydraulic hose

A few years I went to "Hydraulic House" in Austin to have some oil cooler lines made, but after spending a long time on hold this time I figured it'd take them too long to make the hoses anyway. I ordered from discounthydraulichose.com - I'll post how they turned out.

The new hoses from discounthydraulichose.com shipped the day after I ordered and look, well, like hoses. Ends seem fine and hoses are flexible. I replaced the hoses, started the tractor, and let it idle while I raised the arms, tilted the bucked, then lowered the arms. I cranked up the RPMS and tried to raise the bucket - nothing, just the screech you get when the cylinder is fully extended. So I dropped the tractor back to idle RPMs and the bucket still wouldn't raise. After much mess I tracked it down to a bad quick connect; after changing out the fitting, good operation and no leaks.

I definitely recommend ordering from discounthydraulichose.com. You'll save about $800 versus ordering everything from a NH part dealer.
