What a great story. I am merely a shadetree mechanic and have always admired guys with Paul's talent. One day I hope my 70 Chevelle project looks that good!!

That has crossed my mind before! Would really like a tri power 427 out of a 68 vette.

12 or so years ago, an old friend bought a really nice, I think '71, Camaro that was hot rodded. Yanked the 350 and sold it. Put in one of the 502 FI crate motors. But, also $$$. They had some ECM controller issues with the motor early on. He was a reliability engineer; called and dealt directly with the GM engineers to get it ironed out.

I'm a Hemi(old Hemi's) fan though

Being a hemi fan, you may want to smack my uncle for this one. He is a die hard GM guy. He had 2 hemis sitting in his shop, a 426 and a 392. About 20 years ago, he scrapped them. My dad and I, both GM guys too, wanted to kill him. His response- "Everything but GM ain't good for nothing but scrap." We still pick at him over this. Both motors had never been bored, all factory. He took them on a swap for a 65 Malibu SS in the early 70s.
