The Subaru Baja really was before her time.
Wasn't the Baja only introduced after 2000, like the Chevy Montana? If you want to talk about something from Subaru, that was before it's time, wouldn't that be the Brat?

Of course, an OEM putting seats in the open bed of a pickup might never happen, today.

I wonder about that. As long as they have seatbelts, is there any law that says all seats must face forward? Limos have rearward-facing seats sometimes and no requirement for rear airbags that I know of. Rollover protection provided by the cab.

This new Toyota Corolla pick-up has to be a joke? Not that the vehicle looks bad, or doesn't fill a role; but if you are making a small car based truck, the Last thing on earth you would do is give it the same name as a tiny compact entry level car.
Be about the same ad if GM released a Maverick counter, and called it the Geo Tracker or Geo or Metro.... anyone lining up to by the brand new Chevy Cavalier truck...
There MUST be AT LEAST as many people who just want them to put a manual transmission back in the Corolla as those who want to buy a Corolla pickup. Like me.

Clickbait site. That is a Youtube account that shows fantasy vehicles, that vehicle doesn't exist except in someone's dreams. Same site shows a 2025 Chevrolet Bellaire. All their videos are AI-generated according to the site.

Here is what a Cullinan looks like.

The Bratt was always appreciated and had a looong production run, though it wasn't sold in the U.S. all that time.

The Baja was sold from 02-06, about 20 years before the Maverick, Santa Cruz and this new Toyota. It's not really comparable to the Bratt, or for that matter the El Camino or the Aussie Ute's. They're passenger cars with beds; the biggest flaw with the Baja was it's 4 seat layout.

It was a fun car, with a lot of utility. My wife had one when we married, it wasn't my Sierra, but it was perfect for her.

Back in school, RR built cars like the Silver Ghost and the Silver Seraph. During boring lessons i was drawing a RR 4x4 concept called the Silver Sh it. My classmates had a good laugh about it...

The Scout SUV and pick up pair do appear to be really in the works. Multiple channels, with real vehicles, although in the ones I watched, they couldn't drive them, or "start" them, so they probably were static display vehicles, without much of the functional parts. Yes, they are EVs, but they do look good, and in some discuss, they are planning to offer a gas-electric, not sure if it's a plug in hybrid, and whether the gas motor is for constant recharging or actual split drive? I think they said MSRP of around $60k; which I would have said is ridiculous, but the average F150/Ram/Silverado is at $60k already, if not more

My dad bought one of the early BRATS. Had a F150 company truck with a 390 that would get stuck on a booger and never saw double digit mileage , bought the BRAT in a moment of frustration. That was one tough little rascal! Couldn't get it stuck, never got under 30 mpg and would haul way more than it should've. Biggest issue for him was it messed up his back, he was too tall for it and he had to hunch down to drive it. Passed it down to a supervisor that would load it up with as many laborers as could crowd in and bomb across the nursery with the front wheels barely touching the ground !
