Just priced B7500 HST, Loaded BarTurf, FEL, 60" BushHog RFM, 6' BushHog BoxBlade, & 62" BushHog RotoTiller @ $15,800...$16,600 w/MMM vs RFM

...just sold 97 L2500, loaded ag tires, FEL, 132 hrs, 54" RFM for $13,000. Bought 12 months ago for $11,750 w/ intention of downsizing after initiail landscape work, but was talked into selling sooner than expected....

property includes 10 acres, mostly hilly, trees, small creeks & such, & the 2500 was great on slopes nearest the house & final grading but too large going forward.

I have reviewed most all of the posts comparing the 7500 & 2410 and I am moving closer to the 7500 & using the savings on a rototiller vs the horsepower.

Only problem...Drove the 7500 on the dealer lot today and asked myself if I shouldn't go with the 2410 & the rototiller! scared I may miss the horsepower (its a wonder the power of horsepower!)...the 2410 was pricing roughly $1600 higher prior to my decision to go w/ RFM vs. MMM.

The 7500 is only $300 over the (new) budget approved by the mrs, with the 2410 requiring additional review by the approval authority.....Question is - whos' tougher to negotiate with, dealer or wife?

The wife at least in my case would be the tougher. I have no complaints with my B-7500 I don't think you will necessarly miss the extra horses however the B-2410 does have PC may be helpful with the boxblade, I don't own one so I can't say. Either will do the job, throughly test each and pick the one that feels right to you, and the wife/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Answer: That depends. Just buy the B2410. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Although you might be sleeping alone (or with the tractor) for a few nights.

Good Luck, we've all been there.

hard to follow all the figures u threw out there but seems to me , u made $$$ on the sale of your tractor, so if it was me i would go fro the b2410, rfm and use the proceeds of your sale to get the rototiller. god i love spending somone elses money!/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif. serious tho, i have a 2400 and love it, pc at times is a blessing for me, which machine do u really want???? and fit into your budget? these should be the deciding factors.

That's a tough call. In my opinion, the 2410 doesn't really have any more horsepower than a B7500 (look at the power curves), but it does have about 10% more torque, and PC. They are essentially the same frame, so they both would fit into the same tight places. Ask yourself if you need the higher torque and the PC. That's what it boiled down to me, and I went with eth B7500. I'm very happy with it. If I wanted more power, I would have gone with an L3010 or L3410, but the size was a serious consideration. As it happens, there are places I can barely go, even with the B7500. Anything larger would have relegated me to hand work for those spots.
