Just thought I'd throw in as many acronyms as possible. Anyway, still studying the tractor purchase and have a couple of questions that may have been answered before, but I don't recall seeing them.

About the lack of position control. I know as tractors get older(20-30 years), the hydraulic seals gradually go bad and the 3-points leak down. With position control, the level is maintained while the tractor is running, but leaks down thereafter. So, with no position control, will the level be maintained while the tractor is running or will one have to continue adjusting it? I admit, this is a fairly strange "what-if" question, but when I buy a tractor, it'll be for a while and I don't want to have an expensive rebuild that HAS to be done to use the tractor. Not a big issue . . .

About the T&T. The 7500 doesn't have a rear hydraulic port, so how did some of you get around that problem? I know that Glueguy has T&T. Is it hooked up to the front port/loader controls? Any help would be appreciated.

As for the 3PH, I've noticed that "sometimes" the position has changed. I guess, depending on the load/whatever that it leaks a little bit, and you have to pay attention to it. Elsewhere on this forum I posted information about retrofitting the PC from a B7500DTN onto either a HSD or DT. Bottom line is that it can be done, but it'll cost at least $2500 plus labor to do it. Not cost effective.

The Gearmore T&T was connected to the power beyond and is in series with the FEL. The hoses run under the frame, around the back of the seat to the control valve assembly, which is mounted on the right-side of the ROPS. I posted photos in the photos forum.

Glueguy,

I looked through the photos forum but couldn't find a picture of your gearmore t&t setup. Did find a good picture of you on your new machine though. I'd say you were pretty happy!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Maybe it's in another forum?

fishman, as far as the 3-point leaking down, I don't think it'll make any difference whether you have position control or not. If the valve or cylinder on either doesn't seal completely, it'll leak down, and if it does seal completely, it won't. And since the B2710/B2910 does have an optional rear hydraulic outlet, I used it, but even on them, you don't have to use that outlet. You can use the power beyond port on the loader instead (and several people have - LarryT for example), and of course, on tractors that don't have the rear outlet, then I guess you have to use the power beyond port. I really don't think it makes any difference other than length and routing of hydraulic hoses. I know I wouldn't give a nickel for the difference as far as how it works.

Best way of keeping your hydraulics working is to use the tractor regularly. Just like the brakes on your car - they last longer and perform better if used regularly. Use it once a year
and expect problems. The Hydraulics if designed properly should last for a long time without leakage. The hydraulics on my 35 year old MF135 are as good now as the day they were built and it has position control and draft control, features which have been standard on fergies fot the last 50 years.

Thanks to all. My concern is abated.
