Mahindra 7520 with fel . 49 Alis Chalmers wd . 39 Ford 9n
what a difference a bigger tractor makes. i did in 1/2 hour what i wouldn't of been able to do at all. moving round bales. my A-C wd would't been able to move them in the snow +ice picked up 1800# bales like it was nothing well it was for 7520. a strugle to say the least for wd but i used it that way for several years. looking forward to using this tractor! what is the break in peiod? does anyone else have this model? thanks for any replies 7520 this is my first post. just found this site aweek ago. have been on y/m

7520,
Nice choice, the 7520 has answered every thing us Mahindra dealers, and our customers have been asking for, and more. Mahindra has really come through for us. As far as your break in period, 50 to 100 hrs are good, change all your filters at 50 hrs, and follow the routine service schedule on page 85 of your owners manual. Good luck & have fun with 7520.

Glawall: Quick question: I have a '02 6000 4wd w/FEL. I have a 170 hours on it and find it to be a real "beast" (I have the rears filled as well). Since the 7520 and the 6000 seem to have the same CID (whereas the 7520 has a turbo unit as well) I had heard last year that the head bolts should be retorqued at 50 hours as well. I asked my dealer and he advised that my unit did not need the retorque as the change in the manufacturing process took care of that. Do you happen to know what the serial # of the 6000 is that went to the new process?? ( I understand that the pneumatic pressure used on the impact wrenches was "off" for a while and caused the less than spec torque values). Did I hear wrong?? BobG in VA who started the 6000 and ran it today after a week of "teens" temps.

congrats 7520,
I also have a 7520 and so far I really like it. I had a 6500 that I purchased last March and then when the 7520 came out, I had to have one. I really loved my 6500, but I really disliked the platform as I really felt cramped. The 7520 really seems to be quite the tractor so far, I only have 20 hrs on it so far. I do have to say though that I felt that the 6500 did start a little better when it is really cold and also runs smoother when first started. I have a fel and I believe 4 weights on each rear tire. I didn't want the fluid in them at this time and I haven't had any problems at all. I also use the forks I made for the fel to haul large bales and it works great!! Congrats and good luck! We'll have to keep in touch and let each other know how we're getting along. I have had to have a neutral switch replaced so far on the pto neutral switch. It was just sticking a little bit and was operating intermittently so I had it replaced otherwise all else is well.

Powerhouseboy and 7520:
Can either of you post a picture of the back of the unit please. Would also like to see the platform. I have been waiting to see this unit and up grade from my 6000. Talking with my dealer, seems to be concern 3pt hitch is low in the back. Heard Mahindra was going to redesign. Can you confirm? What can a fella expect to pay for this baby?

Hi All,

I really like the look of 7520 and have looked for some pictures but not to many of what I want to see close up. How the instrument panel look & the control valve for for loader.

WOuld any of you mind posting some pictures of these?

Thanks,
Maka

slippy I have only used 3 pt with bale spear. Picking up 5x6 bales had to let lift arms down all the way to hit the bale 3 in. above center. I have not used any other impliments so I can't really say. This tractor is really beefy. The platform is the reason I went with 7520 instead of 6500. The 7520 has lots of extras. Just go look and see for yourself. Let me know how it goes.

I would like that but no dealers around me have one in stock. Got any pics of rear and platform?

Brian: Looks real nice and thanks so much for taking the time. Now that I look at the rear, it appears that it is the draw bar that looks close to the ground. Have you looked at that or had any trouble with it? I have a 6000 and have not had any problems, but I think it is lower on the 7520. Will measure the ground clearance this week and send another email just to let you know.

Another question...how do you like the handling of the 7520 compared to the 6500? Can you get it around like the 6500? Looking at the specs it has about the same footprint and a little heaveir. I have a large farm and do some trial work. It is tight in a lot of places and concerned that longer tractor will not let me get through. How does it do on hills?

I really liked the 6500, but I LOVE the 7520. It is so much easier to get on and off with the open platform. As far as handling, you really wouldn't know any difference between the two. I have very hilly ground and both the 6500 and the 7520 works well. I feel very safe on both. I do wear my seatbelt especially in some of the places I have been. I was pushing the limit, very dumb I know, but they are truly a workhorse.

I'm not sure what the ground clearance is but I feel that the drawbar is actually a little taller, but I may be wrong.

The height of the drawbar is adjustable on the 6500. I moved mine after I got it.

After doing some more checking, I have been informed it is the pto that is set lower. I still have not seen the rear of one so can't compare it to my 6000.
