It would be very helpful if all those that owned the 7520 would please give us an update on prices, equipment, problems w/tractor, any problems w/service and or parts availability, why u bought Mahindra, and if u had it to do all over again would u buy Mahindra over other brands (why/why not). thanks

i had been shopping and comparing tractors for several months. Had come to the conclusion that I could only afford used. I had read several articles about Manihinra and how they had built for IH back in the 60's. Went to a local tractor show this past summer and dealer had amoung other sizes, a 7520 4wd. The show price caused me to move up my time table and purchase it at the show. Had it home two weeks and put 40 hrs on it.
It finished disking, prep, and seeded 10 acres that I was fighting with my 3600 Ford. That went so well I started another 20 with a 4 bt plow; had 1/2 that done in one short day. Dealer has already installed new loader cylinders and linkages. The only short coming is it needs rear ballast; I just havn't decided what I want to add yet.I have been farming all my life; I have used other models including IH, JD, Kobota, loader 4wd tractors and feel it performs equal or better to them for less $$$. I have not regrets. Oh added a larger tool box for pins and such.

chandler37, do not waste your time trying to figure out what to use for ballast. Fill the tires at a minimum,;) add wheel weights if you still need more weight. I operated my 7520 for about a year before I was able to weight my tires.:( First installed 4 sets of wheel weights (576lbs) could hardly tell the difference, filled the tires (1600lbs I think) oh my goodness, the tractor could now actually be used in 2wd.:) Don't get me wrong, the tractor was great before and I would put it up against any other tractor of equal HP. It is just that much better with all the added weight. Oh one other thing, when I filled my tires I filled front & rears.

thanks Brian;

After having the back floating today; I am going shopping for some beet juice. Never considered all 4; but I guess to get the max. out of this tractor it sounds like a good idea.
For your information I have copied a weight chart page for tire size/ weight; it should give you a idea of how much weight can be added.

Dennis, if you can get Rim Guard, do so. It will be worth the money to have all that weight. It's sort of pricey, but well worth the money IMO. Rim guard is not available on the west coast and the cost to ship doubled the price.:(
Good luck and keep in touch.:)

Folks,
Haven't been on here in a while so I am sorry for not responding with an update. I just recently had to have another surgery on my left foot and have just not felt like sitting up at the computer.

The dealer has taken care of all of my problems on my tractor. The only thing that I am still concerned about is the inability of the tractor to lift the 2000-2500 lb. pallet of sod and the extreme slowness of the loader. They checked the relief valve setting on the loader and it was set at 2500 lbs. psi. The loader manual says it should be 2450 lbs. psi if it is a loader w/o the self leveling feature, which mine is. They still do not know why it would not lift it up. I am going to buy feed on Thursday for my cattle. I will be buying a bulk bag of feed that will weigh 2000 lbs or maybe a little more. I am going to try to unload it from the bed of my 3/4 ton truck with the pallet forks. My brother-in-law's smaller Kubota with less hydraulic flow and less lift capacity will pick it up all day long. I know, because I have used it for this many times before getting my tractor. If my tractor won't pick it up the dealer is going to have to find out what is wrong. I'll let ya'll know Thursday night.

I am still unhappy with the speed in which the loader operates. Raising the bucket, lowering the bucket, dumping the bucket and rolling back the bucket are ALL slow!!! I believe there is a problem with the rate of flow of the hydraulic fluid. Can this be checked some-how?

All of the other problems have been fixed, thanks to my dealer. They just completed a 50 hour service on the tractor. They also did some of the things that needed to be done at 70 hours. I think the tractor has about 72 hours on it now.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. It is much appreciated.

Cuz, about the only place on that tractor that would have an impact on all the loader functions is the "joystick" valve itself. Could there be an obstruction on an incoming line to the valving? Has the suction line filter been replaced?? Has your loader ever been off the tractor? As you realize, that loader should pick the whole truck up, not just the pallet....BobG in VA

Exactly what I was thinking! That tractor is a hoss, it should lift just about anything you'd want to lift.
